September 9: What Kind of Tree Are You? (Isaiah 61:3c; Matthew 12:33-37) Jesus, speaking with the Pharisees; a school of men considered righteous, said, “Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” Jesus compares lives to trees that bear either good or bad fruit depending on the character of the tree. Today we do some self-examination and consider what kind of tree we are.

September 16: Reaching up in Worship (Isaiah 55) In our Rooted and Reaching focus, we are reminded of the importance of worship. In Isaiah 55 we are introduced to the applause of trees as their expression of praise to the creator. Truly our God is worthy of praise. We bring a forest of adoration to our God.
