April 2026: Budding into Faith

As we begin the month of April, the very first weekend is Easter. Easter is what our faith is all about: it’s our redemption, our salvation, the curtain separating us from God torn in two. It’s death to life to life eternal.

We invite you to fully enter into the story.

On Good Friday (April 3, 10:30 am) join the area churches at Cornerstone Fellowship (at 414 Royal York Road) to relive the road to Calvary, Christ’s agony as he takes the punishment for our sin onto himself.

Then come to church on Resurrection Sunday (April 5, 10:30 am), and thrill to the songs, the Scriptures, the Cantata “What Love is This”, and affirm with your fellow believers – “He is Risen, Indeed!”

But don’t let it end there.

Keep the new life of Easter alive in your hearts as we experience the new life of Spring. Deepen your faith with Bible studies, listen to the sermons and ponder the follow-up questions.

As we watch bulbs and buds spring to life, foster your own spiritual life and feel it come alive as you deepen your relationship with the Lord. Have a Blessed Easter – and a life-filled Spring!

Board Update – April 2026

Finance

  • We are in a deficit position of $14,000 and expenses have been inline. Our income so far this year is notably lower compared with previous years. We currently have the cash flow to maintain our expenses for the next few months.
  • We will need to increase our overall giving in the coming months or we will need to revise our budget.

Property

  • Structural Review – A thorough assessment of the structure was conducted by two engineers on March 12th. They will be forwarding their report. No urgent safety concerns were identified.
  • Baptism tank – will have to reschedule as the person booked for March 12th did not come.

Mandarin Ministry

  • Mandarin Ministry reported a well-attended Chinese New Year celebration (approximately 80 attendees), emphasizing hospitality, faith, and community engagement.

Custodian Position

  • The Board is pleased to announce that Xiaofeng (Joseph) Zhu has officially been hired as our Custodian. He has been a member of our church for many years and knows the history of our building. We welcome Joseph in this new position!

Copier

  • A new copier/printer has been purchased and installed replacing our old one that was not performing well.

CBOQ Assembly (June 4-6) Delegates

  • The board has appointed Cindy Sellers and Pastor David Donaldson as our delegates.
