September 2026: A New Ministry Year Begins

For many people, January feels like a fresh start. In the life of our church, September often feels the same way.

As summer comes to a close, we’re excited to gather again, reconnect as a church family, and begin a new ministry year together. This September will include familiar programs, new opportunities, and important next steps as we continue seeking God’s direction for Mimico Baptist Church.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up.

September 6: Prayer Service

We will begin September with a special prayer service during our 10:30 a.m. gathering.

This will be a time to reflect on God’s faithfulness over the past year, thank Him for what He has done, and seek His guidance for the months ahead. As we prepare for a new season of ministry, we want prayer to remain at the centre of all that we do.

September 13: Combined Service and Communion

On September 13, our 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. congregations will gather together for a combined service.

This special morning will include:

  • Communion
  • Prayer for our ministry team leads
  • A focus on what it means to be an inviting church
  • An opportunity to worship together as one church family

We are grateful for those who serve across our ministries and look forward to praying for them as they help lead and develop ministry teams in the months ahead.

Sunday Morning Kids Program Launches

Also beginning September 13, we will be piloting a Sunday morning kids program during our combined services.

Children ages 11 and under will worship with everyone at the beginning of the service before heading to the Activity Centre for a program designed especially for them.

Through Bible teaching, activities, and crafts, children will have opportunities to learn more about Jesus in a fun and engaging environment.

Introducing Our Discipleship Framework

Over the past several months, we have been asking an important question:

How does a person become a disciple at Mimico Baptist?

Through prayer, discussion, and planning, we believe God has helped us develop a clearer answer.

Beginning September 20, we will introduce our new discipleship framework and explore what it means for our church community. Over the following months, we will continue unpacking this framework and the practical ways it can help us grow in our faith and follow Jesus together.

We invite everyone to take part in these conversations as we continue growing as disciples of Christ.

Mandarin Ministry Updates

We are also excited about several new developments taking place within our Mandarin Ministry.

More information will be shared throughout September as details become available.

Friday Night Kids and Youth Ministry

Our Friday Night Kids program continues each Friday at 7:00 p.m. for children ages 11 and under.

Many evenings feature a relaxed drop-in format where kids can build friendships, have fun, and learn more about Jesus.

Our Youth Group will also resume on September 11.

Looking Ahead Together

Over the past few weeks, many people have enjoyed vacations, family visits, and time away. September marks a season when we come back together again as a church family.

We are excited to see where God leads us in the coming months as we continue exploring what it means to be a community of Christ, sharing Christ with our communities.

If there is a way we can support or pray for you, we would love to hear from you.

As we begin this new ministry year, we invite you to join us on the journey. We look forward to worshipping, serving, growing, and following Jesus together in the months ahead.
