Scripture provides a framework for the journey of faith. We are invited to belong, encouraged to discover who Jesus is, and called to follow him. As we grow deeper in love with Jesus, we are gradually transformed to become more like him, responding to the love he first showed us. At Mimico Baptist Church, our… Read More »Becoming LIke Jesus Together (September 20, 2026)
Most of us have experienced the excitement of discovering something so good that we immediately wanted someone else to experience it too. It might be a restaurant, a book, a scenic place or a life-changing opportunity. When something truly captures our hearts, our instinct is often, “You need to come and see this for yourself.”… Read More »Come and See (September 13, 2026)
For much of the summer we’ve been looking at Prayer as the posture of the Acts church. This Sunday we will move from talking about prayer to praying. Pastor David has challenged us to pray daily, to pray specifically and even three times a day (like Daniel in Daniel Chapter 6). Continuing our brief look at a few experiences in the first church, we continue to see their habit and pattern of prayer first, then programs. In Acts 6, the growing church faced a problem in its food distribution system. They prayed and acted. In Acts 13, the church in Antioch were worshipping and praying and… Read More »Prayer Before Programs (August 16, 2026)
It is often said that the God of the Old Testament appears to be a God of wrath, while the God of the New Testament seems to be a God of love. How do we reconcile these seemingly different portrayals? Since God’s character does not change, perhaps the real question is not whether God is… Read More »The Patient Judge (August 9, 2026)
