Sharing God’s stories helps us remember how faithful He is. When we pause to reflect on what God has done whether it’s in our lives, in the lives of people around us, and even in ordinary everyday moments—we can see His hand at work.
Psalm 78 reminds us not to keep these stories to ourselves. We share them so we can encourage one another and remember God’s faithfulness from one generation to the next.
So let’s share the stories of what God is doing. They may be simple moments, but they can be powerful reminders of His goodness and faithfulness.

Don’t Keep God’s Goodness a Secret

Have you ever had exciting news that you just had to tell someone? When something good happens, we naturally want to share it. The Bible says the same thing about what God has done.
Remember and Tell
Psalm 78 begins with a call to listen and remember:
“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.”
—Psalm 78:4 (NIV)
The Psalmist looks back at the stories people had heard from parents, grandparents and ancestors. These stories weren’t just history lessons; they were reminders of God’s faithfulness.
People forget things. Lessons from our parents. We can also forget how God has helped us. That’s why remembering matters.
God Is Still Working
Sometimes we think of God only through stories from the Bible. Those stories are true and important, but God didn’t stop working after they were written.
God is still helping, guiding, comforting and changing lives today.
Maybe God gave you peace during a hard season. Maybe He answered a prayer. Maybe He provided help at just the right time. Maybe He stayed close even when you had doubts.
These moments become part of the story of God’s faithfulness.
Why Sharing Matters
Psalm 78 explains why we should pass these stories on:
“Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds.”
—Psalm 78:7 (NIV)
When we hear how God has worked in someone else’s life, it encourages us to trust Him too.
Stories remind us that God is real, present, and active. They help us remember that we’re not alone.
Learning from Both Success and Failure
Psalm 78 doesn’t only talk about the good moments. It also remembers times when God’s people forgot Him and went their own way.
The lesson is simple: when we stop remembering God’s faithfulness, it’s easier to drift away from Him. Remembering helps us stay connected to God. Sharing helps others stay connected too.
A Simple Challenge
Take a few minutes this week and ask yourself:
- When have I seen God’s faithfulness?
- What prayer has He answered?
- When has He helped me through something difficult?
- What is one thing I can thank Him for today?
Write it down. Tell a friend. Share it with your family.
Don’t let God’s goodness become a forgotten memory.
