There is a fullness of Christ that is available but sometimes feels unattainable. Yet in Colossians 2, the Apostle Paul encourages us with the complete sufficiency of Christ for every believer through three key movements—Knowing, Doing, and Overcoming. In Christ, we find our fullness, direction, and victory. He is the center and source of the Christian life.

Triumph in Christ: Living Out Colossians 2
Have you ever wondered why reading the Bible sometimes feels like it doesn’t change your life? This is a question many believers wrestle with. The Apostle Paul gives us a clear answer in Colossians 2, where he outlines three steps to experience true triumph in Christ.
1. Know That All Things Are in Christ
Paul reminds us that all wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ (Colossians 2:1–3). Imagine a treasure vault—everything we long for is inside, but it’s hidden. To uncover it, we need both understanding and experience. This means learning God’s Word together in community and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us. Knowledge alone isn’t enough; we must live it out.
2. Live Your Life in Christ
After receiving Christ, we are called to continue living in Him (Colossians 2:6–7). This isn’t about a checklist of “what to do,” but about staying connected to Jesus daily. Whether at home, on the road or at work, let God’s Word shape your heart. One sister at another church, despite her physical limitations, prays for good weather so she can attend church and even brings heavy supplies for others. Her heart is in heaven while her feet walk on earth—that’s living in Christ.
3. Depend on Christ’s Victory
Paul warns us not to be taken captive by empty philosophies (Colossians 2:8). Why? Because Jesus has already triumphed over every power that binds us—fear, shame, negativity, even the opinions of others. Through His death and resurrection, our debts are canceled, and we are made alive with Him. No one can condemn us because Christ has disarmed every force against us.
So how do we experience this triumph?
- Know: Seek assurance that all things are in Christ.
- Do: Live out what you learn in community and daily life.
- Depend: Rely on Christ, not yourself.
As the Chinese saying goes, “Where water flows, a canal is formed.” When we know, do, and depend on Christ, the way forward opens naturally. Triumph in Christ isn’t hard—it’s about letting His victory shape our lives.
Let’s keep our hearts seated in heaven while we walk on earth. And as Paul says, let no one take you captive—because in Christ, you are already free.
